THE WORLD
The Vanguard is an alternate universe in which magic exists and alternate realms are very real places to see and visit. These realms are all connected by a place called The Parallel, the true neutral zone for all interconnected realms. The Parallel runs almost literally parallel to all the realms, serving as a border and a checkpoint for those travelling between the realms. Creatures and humans live in peace along The Parallel, though mostly the are vagrants and those seeking new lives and adventure. Not all realms are fully aware of The Parallel, and not all races travel freely.

The Vanguard holds many realms, though there are major realms that are connected, while the rest are known as dead realms. Either they did not meet the proper natural criteria to remain connected or The Council of The Parallel blocked their portal and banished them.

Magic can be found across the realms, though some have no magic or its magic is incredibly unstable.

Corinne doesn't have the power to grant Marks, but has the power to train and cast spells. Freelancer, descendant of the Cyr-Kol line. Extended family with deep connections to various realms. She bears the Mark of Strength, which grants her super strength. After several years of switching majors, she is finally graudating with a degree in English to be an editor. Huge nerd. Loves WWE, especially the Divas. Her color is hot pink and her guardian is a lion.
